Northland

We drove up to Whangarei today and went to the Town Basin for lunch and icecream. There was a really neat playground there where the kids had a blast playing and then we headed up to see Whangarei Falls. The waterfall was gorgeous and so was the walk down to it.

The trail back up was fun because there were a lot of rocks and trees to climb on then a big open grassy area where the boys got to wrestle (something they have been dying to do after so much traveling). After they got some energy out we drove along the Tutukaka coast and saw some breathtaking views then continued up north and are camping out in Kerikeri tonight. We are planning on heading up to Rainbow Falls tomorrow and then to a forest where there are Kauri trees, which are some of the world's biggest trees. Some of the trees are over 2000 years old!
